چکیده
Amyloid beta (A?) produced by the amyloidogenic pathway induces neurotoxicity, and its accumulation is a well-known cause of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). In this study, protective effect membrane-free stem cell extract (MFSCE) derived from adipose tissue against A?25–35-induced neurotoxicity in neuronal cells was investigated. Treatment with MFSCE increased viability decreased lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release dose-dependent manner, compared group. The level reactive oxygen species (ROS) significantly induced A?25–35, whereas treatment dose-dependently reduced ROS production. attenuated neuroinflammation apoptosis downregulating inducible nitric oxide synthase, cyclooxygenase-2, B-cell lymphoma 2-associated X protein treated SH-SY5Y A?25–35. Furthermore, downregulated expression pathway-related proteins, such as amyloid precursor protein, ?-secretase, preselin-1, preselin-2. Therefore, study indicated neuroprotective suggesting that it useful strategy for AD.

Glycogen synthase kinase-3β may contribute to neuroprotective effects of Sargassum oligocystum against amyloid-beta in neuronal SH-SY5Y cells
Glycogen synthase kinase (GSK)-3β mediates amyloid-beta (Aβ) and oxidative stress-induced neurotoxicity in neurodegenerative disorders. Natural products with antioxidant activity, such as Sargassum (S.) oligocystum may modulate GSK-3β enzyme and protect against Aβ-induced neurotoxicity. Therefore, we aimed to assess the neuroprotective effects of a methanolic extract of S. oligocystum against A...
متن کاملThe neuroprotective effect of BSA-based nanocurcumin against 6-OHDA-induced cell death in SH-SY5Y cells
Objective: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is regarded as the second most common neurodegenerative disease affecting elderly population. There is a tendency toward finding natural cures to suppress the initiation and progression of this disease. Some epidemiological studies indicated lower incidence of PD in populations that consume curry. Curcumin, as the main ingredient of turmeric, has been suppose...
متن کاملActeoside protects human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells against beta-amyloid-induced cell injury.
Amyloid beta-peptide (Abeta) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of AD. It can cause cell death in AD by evoking a cascade of oxidative damage to neurons. So antioxidant compounds may throw a light on the treatment of AD. In the present study, we investigated the protective effect of acteoside (AS), an antioxidative phenylethanoid glycoside, on Abeta(25-35)-induced SH-SY5Y cell injury. Expo...
متن کاملEffect of four medicinal plants on amyloid-β induced neurotoxicity in SH-SY5Y cells.
Amyloid-beta peptide (Aβ) is implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), a neurodegenerative disorder. This study was designed to determine the effect of four medicinal plants used to treat neurodegenerative diseases on Aβ-induced cell death. Cytotoxicity of the ethanol extracts of the plants was determined against SH-SY5Y (human neuroblastoma) cells which were untreated, as wel...
متن کاملNeuroprotective effects of Liriope platyphylla extract against hydrogen peroxide-induced cytotoxicity in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells
BACKGROUND Oxidative stress is involved in neuronal cell death and mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases. Liriope platyphylla (LP) has been suggested to have anti-inflammation, anti-bacterial, and anti-cancer effects. However, whether LP exerts neuroprotective effects on neuronal cells is unknown. METHODS The present study was performed to investigate the neuroprotective eff...
